LA Raw Restaurant Tour - Part 1

As you know, I've been in the LA area recently, celebrating my birthday, and doing a bit of a raw restaurant tour. Fortunately my good friend Alex Malinsky (Raw Guru) is a huge foodie, like me, so he was the perfect person for food adventures.

We hit up a relatively new restaurant called Mooi, with our friend Brian Lucas, known as Chef Belive. This is the cutest place! It felt like we stepped into a scene from Alice in Wonderland with colorful chairs and tables, each one different from the next.

Their menus are totally adorable - all printed up in Dr. Seuss books!

Alex and I shared 2 salads for dinner to be sure to save room for dessert. We didn't like the "wild greens salad", and only had a few bites. The "green salad" was delicious, but wasn't traditional Greek style. Another friend tried the orange jackfruit chik'n over rice which was apparently amazing, as were the cheesey jalapeno poppers.

The food is really good, and the ice cream menu is even more impressive, featuring 23 flavors or raw ice cream. You know we had to indulge! Not all flavors were available that night, but we tried 7 great ones, in addition to the snickerz cake. The chocolate peanut butter swirl and white chocolate macadamia nut cookie ice creams were my favorites.

Since I didn't get any pics that evening, check out their page of incredible photos which are sure to get your mouth watering.

The incredible, Lou Corona, did a presentation at Mooi that evening. I really like his four tiered approach to health and learned so much, a lot of which I will be implementing into my own life. Lou has been raw vegan for almost 40 years and is thriving. He's holding himself up on his finger tips!

Earlier that day we went to Chef Belive's place for some of his fine cuisine. What a treat! We enjoyed a lot of cultured goodies including a coconut drink, yogurt, durian hazelnut coconut pudding, and veggie nori rolls, with a side of coconut bacon. Chocolate chai ice cream to top it all off - it disappeared before I was able to get a pic.

Durian hazelnut coconut pudding... diviiine!

More food adventures coming up... stay tuned... dining at Rawvolution and Juliano's coming up next...
