As you already know from my previous post, I've had the great fortune of taking another trip to New York City! I had so much fun there in the Fall that I just had to come again. The winter blues can get the best of me in the north, so this refreshing time away has been just what I needed. Dining at some of the greatest raw restaurants is in order here. My first dinner was at Pure Food & Wine with my friend Philip - this is probably the best raw resto on the planet.
The cocktail special was in order. Strawberry Raspberry Aloe- Tini with Rose Petals. Yes it tasted as great as it looks!
So happy to be here! Cheers!
I ordered the Nori Rolls - filled with spinach, kim chi, nut cheese, and ginger.
I also chose the Arugula/Frisee Salad with pear, some kind of yummy dressing, and shaved nut cheese on the top.
Philip is finishing a 60 day juice/smoothie fast, so he enjoyed this delicious smoothie.
Great dinner at Pure
I enjoyed lunch at One Lucky Duck a few days later with my good friend Deana. We were sure to split a half pint of Vanilla Mint Chip Ice Cream for dessert... didn't even think to snap a pic before we eagerly dove in.
She enjoyed the Thai Lettuce Wraps
I enjoyed a huge Simple Green Salad, with all kinds of fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, and parsley.
That's just the start... much more coming soon... another dinner at Pure, a trip to Quintessence, and a dessert feast from One Lucky Duck!

I love, love, love reading your blog and living vicariously through you when you take these wonderful trips. It reminds me of the one fabulous meal I had at Pure Food and Wine when I was traveling to NYC to go to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. You inspire me. I'm not raw, but you help me realize that it could be possible, some day.
Girl! I'm SO jealous - I have yet to make it to NYC but it honestly on the top of my list of "must go to spots". It is raw food heaven!!

I have a question...When you go to visit a town how do you go about finding the raw food restaurant? I like making raw foods but it would be nice to try new things that someone else created. How do I find the raw food restaurant in my area?

Hi Heathy! I am drooling over all of the yummy food photos. Apparently NYC IS the place to go for some yummy raw rezzies, mmm. I noticed your from Ontario...ME TOO! It's super snowy here right now...hopefully things will settle before your return so it's not a weather shocker, hehe. Seems like your having a rawsome time.
